100 Points in His Second Season

     When the Sharks faced off against the St. Louis Blues last night, Macklin Celebrini was sitting at 98 points on the season - 36 goals and 62 assists - in just 71 games. Nobody would deny that Celebrini has solidified himself as one of the league's best centers.

    In yesterday's game Macklin scored two goals, one of which being scored on the power play, and added a power play assist, to bring his season total up to 101 points in 72 games.




    What this kid had done this season has been unreal. He's still a teenager! It's a shame that it looks as though San Jose will miss out on the playoffs, because he would likely take home the Hart if they made it in. He has truly been carrying this Sharks team on his shoulders since last season.

    Even if the Sharks miss out on the postseason this year, I'm excited to see what the team can do in the 2026-2027 season. I wouldn't be surprised to see Celebrini take this team on a playoff run. But for now, let's just hope for the best in the remainder of the current season.

    The Sharks rarely make sports radio anymore... but yesterday the guys were talking about Macklin and the Sharks playoff chances. One had hope they'd make it in, the other two didn't think it would happen. Go Sharks!

      Unfortunately for me, the NHL app doesn't have the play-by-play or broadcasts for the Winter Olympic games, but I have been paying attention to the scores.      Team Canada is extremely stacked this year, and have won all three of their preliminary games against Czechia (5-0), Switzerland (5-1), and France (10-2), en route to the Group A title and bye going into the qualification playoff round.     Macklin has had an incredible first three games, scoring four goals and two helpers; his six points are second in the entire tournament behind Connor McDavid's nine (two goals, seven assists). Needless to say, the 19-year old Celebrini has been a force in this Winter Olympics for a Team Canada to be feared moving forward.      Unfortunately, highlights are difficult to come by and I'm too lazy to look (lol), so I'll just show what Connor McDavid has to say about playing with Mack Attack:

TEAM CANADA, HERE WE COME!

      I was unsure if I was going to continue writing this blog, but I figured that if I made it I may as well go through with it.     A while ago now, Mack Attack was added to Team Canada's roster for the Winter Olympics. He will be laying alongside the likes of Connor McDavid, Sydney Crosby, and Cale Makar, to name a few. Apparently Sidney asked Macklin to play on his line during the Olympic -- now that's respect.     And it's respect well-deserved, as Macklin has amassed 72 points in 48 games this season, on track for a season over 120 points if he keeps this pace up. He has led a notoriously bad Sharks team into playoff contention for the first time since 2019. This kid is something special.     I cannot wait to see him play in the Winter Olympic for a stacked Team Canada. Best of luck to Macklin and to the Sharks this season.

Welcome to the Club

      I first really started paying attention to hockey last season when a couple friends got me into playing fantasy hockey. I had some ties to the Sharks at the time, so they came into place as my favorite team.      I didn't know very much about hockey, but one of my friends let me know there was a special prospect on the Sharks. He wouldn't let me know his name, but when he drafted him in our league I knew exactly who it was.     Macklin Celebrini was quite good last year. As my hockey knowledge grew I quickly found out the Sharks had something special here. And he's put it together this year, playing as a top-5 forward in the league.     I think I'm the biggest Macklin Celebrini fan in the state of Texas. We have the Stars, but I'm a Sharks fan, and always will be. And Macklin Celebrini is my guy.     I started this blog to me the 'fan club,' per se, of Macklin. Welcome to the club!
